PreCycle is Brooklyn’s first zero-waste store, founded by Katerina Bogatireva. A force of nature in service of the Earth, she is now opening two new locations at Essex Market and Vanderbilt Ave, in addition to the first location at Cypress Ave! The new Vanderbilt Ave. location opened on Earth Day, April 22, 2023.

This is where UpRoot Design Studio comes in. PreCycle Vanderbilt needed a lush, jungle mural to celebrate our connection to the Earth through plants, food and water; artist Julia Barry created designs and painted the “Into the Jungle” mural to life over the course of one month. Julia will share more about the making of the mural on Instagram starting this Earth Day 2023!
